WELCOME TO BERWICK AND DISTRICT MOTOR CLUB WEBSITE

Welcome to Berwick & District Motor Club the home of three of the UK's top all time drivers the late Jim Clark and rally greats Andrew Cowan and Louise Aitken Walker. In 2010 the club celebrated its 75th anniversary after being reborn in 1935, we are based in the Eastern Scottish Borders and North Northumberland where BDMC has an extensive programme of events throughout the year, with the Jim Clark Rally as the premier event in the calendar. The only 'Closed Roads' rally on mainland Britain, the Jim Clark Rally has been a round of the British Rally Championship since 1999.In recent years BDMC has built a reputation for promoting quality events that have proven popular with both competitors and spectators alike.

The Berwick Classic has consistently attracted increasing numbers from further a field each year, including crews from Ireland, Scotland and all over England for the event. With it’s relaxed atmosphere and mix of short but demanding tests and easy navigationThe Johnston Trophy Rally was re intoduced to the club calender in 2003 in the form of navigational rally with special tests, the event is held the first weekend after new year to kick start the season and blow the cobwebs away !

The BDMC East Ord Autocross has become one of the best supported events on the Autocross calender with competitors and spectators alike, every year the event attracts fifty plus entries and large numbers of spectators who are entertained by the close competition as drivers from both the North East and Borders Championships battle it out.

The Buglass Rally is one of the oldest events on the BDMC calendar, the event is run as navigational road rally but in its early days it was run as one of the classic "Selective" road rallies. The Buglass is a great way to get into rallying and navigation so why not take your first steps and have a go.Berwick & District Motor Club run autotest events all year starting with the traditional Winfield Autotest in March at the famous Winfield Airfield, for many years now the club has ran more events during the year at different venues, autotesting is a great and inexpensive way to learn about car control and have a bit of fun at the same time, so keep an eye on the club calendar for the next event.
